Shane and Emily Tasker, serving in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, have walked through a very difficult season, yet have clearly seen God’s faithfulness through it all. Emily has been facing serious health challenges, including a condition affecting her esophagus, and is awaiting further testing to determine the cause. At the same time, her mother has been undergoing treatment for cancer-related complications, and there have been encouraging signs of improvement.
In the midst of these personal trials, they also faced a major setback with their shipping container. After finally receiving approval to ship, a serious accident occurred during loading, causing significant damage to many of their belongings, including most of their furniture and appliances. Despite the discouragement and unexpected financial burden, they have seen God provide help through family and church members and are trusting Him as they work through insurance and replacement needs.
Through every challenge, the Taskers continue to press forward in faith, committed to the ministry God has given them. They are encouraged by the Lord’s sustaining grace and remain focused on the work in the Congo, including strengthening believers and advancing efforts to make Scripture available in the Swahili language.
Pray for Emily’s health, that answers and effective treatment will be found.
Pray for her mother’s continued recovery and strength.
Pray for provision and resolution regarding the damaged shipping container and insurance needs.
Pray for approval and progress in the Swahili Bible printing project.
Pray for the believers in the Congo, for spiritual growth and faithfulness.
Pray for continued strength and encouragement for the Tasker family.
