Matt and Naomi Shields continue faithfully serving in Aruba, overseeing multiple churches and training leaders while expanding ministry opportunities.

In October, they hosted a four-day youth camp with teens from all three churches. Many had never attended camp before, making it a special time of spiritual growth. They also celebrated the 3rd anniversary of the mission in San Nicolas (New Hope Baptist Church), which continues to grow and has recently adopted a faith promise missions program to support additional missionaries.

The Bible Institute remains strong, with 15–25 students from their churches studying multiple courses each Monday night. Two young ladies also completed a three-month internship, serving faithfully in the ministry.

December brought numerous outreach efforts, including hospital singing, live nativity scenes, and evangelism at the city Christmas fair. In January, Berea Baptist Church held its 9th Missions Conference, challenging the church to “turn the world upside down” with the Gospel.

A recent Love Banquet outreach drew 57 adults, with about one-third being first-time visitors—an excellent opportunity to present Christ. The churches are also making steady progress on construction projects, including completing much of the church road and preparing for building permits for a future church facility.

The Shields family will be traveling extensively in 2026 to visit supporting churches while continuing to develop leadership within the Aruba ministries. They rejoice that many men and women are stepping up to preach, teach, and serve during their absence.
