Matt and the Shields family, serving in Aruba, continue faithfully ministering in what they describe as a very real spiritual battle. Even in challenging moments, they are encouraged by God’s victories and remain committed to pressing forward in the work. Recently, their church has entered a difficult season marked by sickness and the loss of members, yet they are seeing God’s grace at work as the church family comes together to support and encourage one another. 

At the same time, there has been much fruit in the ministry. Several individuals have joined the church, one lady trusted Christ, and the church has remained active in outreach. A major highlight was a Bible distribution effort where 1,700 packages were given out in the community, along with continued discipleship, prayer meetings, and the celebration of the church’s 11th anniversary. God is clearly working as the church grows both in number and in unity.

Looking ahead, the ministry calendar is full with youth camp, missions travel, VBS, and conferences. In addition, progress is being made on their church property, with initial funding secured and plans moving forward. The family is also preparing for a busy fall reporting trip to visit supporting churches. Through it all, they are thankful for God’s goodness and for the faithful support of those who pray and give.
