Lynette Osborn is thankful for continued opportunities to serve alongside Mark and Amy Coffey in South Africa. Recently, they welcomed two missions teams from Georgia and Maryland, giving the visitors an opportunity to experience the ministry in Port Elizabeth and serve alongside the local churches. At Lighthouse Baptist Church, attendance has been encouraging, with more than 70 people averaging in Sunday services, and the junior church children recently had an opportunity to sing during a church service.
The expansion of Lighthouse Baptist Church has begun, although construction is temporarily paused because of an issue with the local municipality. They are praying that the matter will be resolved quickly so construction can resume and the church can begin using the additional space. Lynette is also preparing for upcoming ministry opportunities, including Vacation Bible School at Lighthouse Baptist Church and the third annual men’s retreat at Camp Rhino.
Another highlight was a recent children’s ministry workshop organized by Lynette, which brought together 76 adults and teenagers from nearly ten churches for a full day of training. It was especially encouraging to see some of the young people immediately begin using what they learned in their churches. Donated curriculum and teaching materials from churches in America were also distributed to help strengthen children’s ministries throughout the area.
Pray for the municipality issue to be resolved so construction at Lighthouse Baptist Church can continue.
Pray for the successful completion of the church building expansion.
Pray for the upcoming Vacation Bible School at Lighthouse Baptist Church.
Pray for the third annual men’s retreat at Camp Rhino, that God will work in the lives of the men attending.
Pray for continued fruit from the children’s ministry training and for those who are putting what they learned into practice.
Pray for continued growth and Gospel impact at Lighthouse Baptist Church.
