Tim and Kim Melton continue serving faithfully in Nagoya, Japan, where they are working to reach people with the gospel and strengthen their local church. During the Christmas season, they hosted a special children’s meeting where 14 children attended, decorating cookies and watching a short animated presentation explaining the true meaning of Christmas. For some of the children, it was the first time they had heard the gospel message.
The church also held a Christmas program with special music and Scripture readings, followed by a clear presentation of the gospel. Several visitors attended the service, some for the first time, providing another opportunity to share Christ.
In January, the Meltons enjoyed fellowship with another missionary family serving in Japan who visited their church. They also hosted a youth meeting that encouraged the young people in their congregation. In addition, the Meltons are preparing to host a Missionary Fellowship Retreat later this year to strengthen and encourage missionaries serving across Japan.
The ministry in Nagoya continues to grow, and the church has recently added new chairs for the auditorium. While this has been a blessing, the church is becoming crowded when visitors attend, leading the Meltons to begin searching for a larger property for future ministry opportunities.
Pray for the visitors who attended the Christmas events to respond to the gospel.
Pray that the Lord will provide a national pastor to help lead the ministry.
Pray for the Meltons as they search for a larger property for the growing church.
Pray for John and Hitomi Leone as they travel to the United States to visit family and raise support.
Pray for the upcoming Missionary Fellowship Retreat that will encourage missionaries serving in Japan.
