Kim Heimerl is thankful to be returning to a fuller ministry schedule in Brazil after a long season of health challenges. In 2024, several planned ministry opportunities had to be canceled while she underwent three procedures and a lengthy period of medication adjustments. Her health has improved enough for her to recently travel to Goiás, where she spent five days helping another missionary. She is also preparing for the church’s upcoming Christmas program, which is currently being finalized. 

One of Kim’s greatest current opportunities is with her neighbor Fátima and her family, none of whom are saved. Fátima recently attended church with Kim and has begun asking questions about the Bible. They are hoping to begin walking together regularly, which would give Kim additional opportunities to share the Gospel with her. Even Fátima’s daughter-in-law, who previously had a difficult relationship with Kim, has become friendlier. Kim is encouraged by these changes and believes the Lord may be opening the hearts of this entire family.

Kim is also thankful for a good supply of Gospel tracts and John and Romans that can be distributed throughout local communities. She would love to have a missions group come to Brazil and help personally place this Scripture into people’s hands. Meanwhile, Kim continues working through her own health needs and is trying one final change in anticoagulant medication, praying that it will allow her strength to fully return so she can continue serving the Lord more effectively.
