Mike and Cindy Haley are walking through a serious medical trial while continuing their faithful ministry in Botswana. Recently, Cindy was diagnosed with lung cancer after doctors discovered a large mass during testing in South Africa. She underwent major surgery in which a significant portion of her right lung was removed. By God’s grace, the surgery was successful, and a potentially life-threatening complication near her heart was avoided in what can only be described as a miracle.
Since then, Cindy has returned to Botswana and is recovering, though the journey has not been without challenges. She was briefly readmitted to the hospital due to a blood clot but has stabilized and is now continuing her recovery at home. The next critical step is further testing, including a PET scan, to determine whether the cancer has spread and what treatment will be required.
Throughout this entire trial, the Haleys have seen God’s hand in powerful ways—through medical care, provision, and the overwhelming prayers of God’s people. Even in difficult moments, the Lord has shown His care, including the miraculous recovery of stolen personal belongings, reminding them that He is present in every detail.
At the same time, the ministry in Botswana continues moving forward. Souls are being reached, churches are growing, and the Gospel is advancing. The Haleys remain steadfast in their desire to glorify God through both their ministry and this trial.
