Sarah Goodman is nearing the completion of her nurse practitioner training as she prepares to return to full-time medical missionary service in the Amazon River Basin of Brazil. She is finishing her second clinical rotation, which will bring her to nearly 450 hours of hands-on clinical experience. One final 216-hour rotation remains, and she hopes to complete it by December. However, finding a clinical site and preceptor has been difficult, and further delays could postpone both her graduation and return to Brazil.

Sarah is also facing some unexpected health concerns. After years of recurring ear infections, she recently learned that she has significant hearing loss in both ears. A CT scan is scheduled to help determine the cause and whether surgery may be necessary. She is praying that these medical concerns can be addressed before she returns to the mission field.

Even during this season of uncertainty, Sarah has seen God provide for her future ministry. A ministry friend recently donated more than $500 worth of medical supplies and wound-care dressings for the Amazon for Christ medical evangelism ministry. These supplies should provide more than enough for the clinics anticipated next year and will help meet physical needs while opening doors to share the Gospel throughout the Amazon region.
