Sarah Goodman is praising the Lord for the results of two recent Amazon medical evangelism trips in South America. During the first trip to the Três Fronteiras region, the team provided medical care to 594 patients, with each person receiving a personal Gospel presentation. They rejoiced as 82 people trusted Christ, with several later following the Lord in baptism in the Amazon River. Although Sarah could not attend because of her schooling, she helped prepare the team and develop a new education and preparation app for the trip.
Sarah was able to participate in the second trip to the remote state of Beni, Bolivia, where the team partnered with missionary Ernesto Salvatierra and Liberty Baptist Church. They treated 993 patients, and 54 people trusted Christ as Savior. The response from the community was tremendous, with some people arriving hours early or even camping outside the church. The following Sunday, 111 new visitors attended the church, which normally averages around 65 people.
Between the two trips, 1,587 people received medical care and 136 made professions of faith in Christ. Sarah was also able to provide important wound care, including treatment for a young girl seriously injured in a motorcycle accident. She is now continuing her nurse practitioner schooling and beginning her second clinical rotation while praying for more opportunities to use medical care as a way to reach people with the Gospel.
Pray for the 136 people who made professions of faith, that they will grow in Christ.
Pray for Pastor Ernesto and his family as they follow up with those reached in Bolivia.
Pray that the 111 new church visitors will continue attending and respond to the Gospel.
Pray for continued Gospel fruit in the remote Amazon communities reached through the medical clinics.
Pray for Sarah to have wisdom and opportunities during her nurse practitioner schooling.
Pray for God’s help and direction as Sarah begins her second nurse practitioner clinical rotation.
Pray for continued medical evangelism opportunities and open doors to reach people with the Gospel.
