The Fitzgerald family is thankful for the many ways God continues to give them opportunities to serve in Peru. Their ministry includes preaching, personal discipleship, hospitality, and encouraging other believers and missionaries. Buddy recently traveled to the United States to spend time with his father, whose health is declining, and was also able to speak several times at their home church. Through these experiences, the Fitzgeralds have been reminded of the importance of family, Christian fellowship, and faithfully serving wherever God provides an opportunity. 

A major focus of their ministry continues to be children, teenagers, and young adults. Recent children’s activities brought several dozen first-time visitors, and Buddy spoke at a youth conference in Arequipa with as many as 700 people attending. They are also taking the Gospel outside the church through a creative water outreach in a public plaza. Church members offer free water and use Christ’s teaching about “living water” as an opportunity to begin Gospel conversations. Soccer ministry is providing another way to build relationships with young people and their families.

The Fitzgeralds are also encouraged by growth at Iglesia Bautista Gracia, where three new members were recently received, including two who had been baptized. Their desire is to develop a healthy local church where believers know Scripture, serve one another, evangelize their community, and disciple others. They are especially praying for God to raise up Peruvian leaders and eventually provide a national pastor who can help lead the church forward.
