Dallas and Ashley Brown are encouraged by the continued growth and maturity of Victory Baptist Church of Zinguedesse in Burkina Faso. When the church was started five years ago, their prayer was that it would eventually become an autonomous church able to continue faithfully without them. Before furlough, they constituted the church and placed responsibility into the hands of the leaders they had trained. Since returning, they have been encouraged to see members taking ownership of the ministry, including women serving by caring for the church property and men going door-to-door to share the Gospel.
The Browns also recently held two camps—one for teenagers ages 12–17 and another for young adults 18 and older. They are thankful for the Lord working in many hearts and for the spiritual decisions that were made. Although camps require a great deal of work, they are grateful for the fruit and are praying that the young people will remain faithful to the commitments they made.
Another encouragement is the arrival of the Turner family in Burkina Faso after completing deputation. The Turners will soon begin language school as they adjust to life in West Africa and seek the Lord’s direction for their ministry. The Browns are thankful to have additional missionaries joining the work and are praying that God will continue raising up laborers to reach Burkina Faso with the Gospel.
