Tommy and Jen Behman are thankful for the growth of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Barangay Sinandigan, Philippines, a ministry that began in June 2025 with just one person. Because the original meeting place was in a red-light district and the ministry was increasingly reaching children, they moved the services into their home for greater safety. The church now has more than 25 faithful attendees, and they have seen people saved and baptized. Ten young girls are especially involved, spending time with the Behmans several days each week for Bible study, youth activities, church services, and discipleship.
As the Behmans have grown closer to these children, they have become aware of serious needs affecting some of the girls, including abuse within their families. The area is also experiencing a severe water shortage, with no city water supplied for seven months, leaving many church families dependent upon rainfall even for basic needs such as washing clothes. These challenges have strengthened the Behmans’ desire to provide the church and children with a safe, permanent place for worship, discipleship, and ministry.
They are now raising funds to purchase a half-acre property near their home, construct a church building, and drill a deep well that would provide a dependable water supply. The total project is estimated at $156,124. They currently have $35,503 saved, leaving $120,621 still to raise. The proposed property is only about a three-minute walk from their home, and a Christian architectural and engineering group has offered to prepare the building plans at no cost. The Behmans are asking the Lord to provide while they continue caring for the children, strengthening the church, and reaching their community with the Gospel.
Pray for the continued growth and spiritual strength of Lighthouse Baptist Church.
Pray for the young girls being discipled, especially those facing difficult and unsafe situations at home.
Pray for God’s protection, wisdom, and guidance as the Behmans minister to vulnerable children.
Pray for God to provide the remaining $120,621 for the church building project.
Pray for the purchase of the half-acre property and construction of the new church building.
Pray for provision of the deep well, giving the church and community a dependable source of water.
Pray for Tatay Francis and other developing church leaders as they faithfully serve.
Pray that God will continue to save people, change lives, and strengthen the church in Barangay Sinandigan.
