Dr. Ron and Brenda Barnes continue serving through Source of Light International, with a strong focus on training pastors, developing discipleship materials, and strengthening ministries around the world. Ron recently spent a week in Togo teaching 80 pastors from Mali, Burkina Faso, Benin, Guinea, and Togo. He provided approximately 40 hours of instruction on discipleship and spiritual leadership. Many of these pastors have received little formal training, increasing the need for qualified teachers who can continue investing in them.

Earlier in the summer, Ron and his son-in-law Ben led a ministry team to Guyana, where approximately 200 children and teenagers attended Vacation Bible School. They were told that around 40 or more made spiritual decisions, and the local ministry is intentionally following up with them through age-appropriate Source of Light discipleship courses. Ron also traveled to Brazil, where he helped provide evangelism and discipleship training to approximately 200 students, pastors, and alumni at a Brazilian seminary. 

The Barnes are also heavily involved in developing ministry leaders and resources. Ron continues traveling to churches and conferences representing Source of Light and is preparing for a pastors' conference in Spain, where they plan to introduce the new Spanish online World Wide Bible Institute. Brenda continues her work as Director of Advanced Studies, updating courses and helping with the 10-month Extreme Assignment apprenticeship program.

Another major focus has been improving the ministry's publications department. Changes in leadership, outsourcing some children's materials, and purchasing new bindery equipment have helped the department catch up with demand. They are especially thankful that God provided all the funds needed for these improvements. Ron and Brenda report that their health remains good, but the heavy workload and spiritual pressures can be exhausting. They are deeply grateful for the prayers of those who support them.
