Rick Arrowood and the Slavic Baptist Mission team recently returned from a powerful ministry trip to Ukraine, where they witnessed both the realities of war and the unmistakable hand of God at work. During their time there, they experienced the largest Russian attack of the war, with drones and missiles striking near areas where they had just been. Despite the danger, God provided clear protection and allowed ministry to continue without interruption.
Even in the midst of conflict, life and ministry continue. At Slavic Baptist Institute, teaching and preaching went forward as planned, including chapel services and a graduation ceremony. The resilience of the believers was evident, as they faithfully carried on despite the constant threat around them.
God also worked through evangelistic efforts during the trip. At a men’s rehabilitation center, 11 men responded to the Gospel, and in multiple church services, many others expressed a desire to trust Christ—including 12 adults in one service and another 12 in a newly planted church. These moments highlight how the Gospel is advancing even in the darkest circumstances.
The team was especially encouraged by young pastors and graduates who are faithfully serving, often sacrificially, to bring hope to their communities during a time of war.
Pray for the believers in Ukraine, for protection, strength, and endurance.
Pray for continued fruit from the salvations during this trip, that lives will be truly transformed.
Pray for the pastors and church leaders, for boldness and faithfulness.
Pray for Slavic Baptist Institute, for continued training of leaders.
Pray for peace in Ukraine and that the Gospel will continue to spread in the midst of war.
