Tony and Kristy Applegate are thankful for the Lord’s continued work through Faith Baptist Church in Uganda. They have recently seen several people make salvation decisions, followed by baptisms and continued discipleship. One adult and a teenager recently placed their faith in Christ, and several children who had previously trusted Christ have now been baptized and are learning more about God. The Applegates are encouraged to see believers growing not only in their faith but also in their willingness to serve. 

An important part of their ministry is developing national Christians into leaders. Church members are increasingly serving in the choir, cleaning, ushering, welcoming visitors, children’s ministry, and media. Through training and discipleship, more believers are preparing to teach and lead Bible studies and other ministries. Tony is especially encouraged to see Christians maturing and taking greater responsibility within Faith Baptist Church.

Tony has also been burdened about reconciliation among pastors and church leaders throughout Uganda. A recent reconciliation conference brought together 73 pastors and church leaders for two days of biblical teaching on forgiveness. Several made decisions to address offenses and broken relationships, and some pastors immediately preached on forgiveness in their churches, resulting in members reconciling with one another. The Applegates are thankful for these signs of spiritual growth and are praying for the Lord to continue strengthening churches and leaders throughout Uganda.
