Matt and Becky Allen are thankful for significant progress in several areas of their ministry in Papua New Guinea. Construction is moving forward on Phase 3 of their new building, which is already 85% funded. The expansion will provide additional classrooms for the Christian school, a cafeteria seating approximately 200 people, and, Lord willing, an elevator that will eventually provide access to the entire building.

After praying and waiting for ten years, the ministry has also obtained approximately 5½ acres of property to expand its youth camp. Last year the camp reached capacity with 80 campers and 23 trained counselors. Until now, classrooms at the school have had to double as camp cabins during school breaks. The new property will allow the ministry to develop a dedicated camp and eventually provide a place where other churches in the city can hold camps as well. 

Another major development is the proposed South Pacific Christian University. Applications have been submitted for the university to become a nonprofit public-benefit association, and the Allens are beginning the process of obtaining legal recognition as a university in Papua New Guinea. Two major needs are already clear: funding for infrastructure and qualified, spiritually minded leaders willing to live in PNG and help train the next generation of national leaders.
