John and Lena Allen are thankful for a fruitful season of ministry in Papua New Guinea. In September, their church in Port Moresby hosted its annual Kamea Kids & Youth Camp. Twelve Kamea young people and three Kamea pastors attended, staying with the Allens and other church families. The camp provided an important opportunity for young people to hear God’s Word, make spiritual decisions, and build relationships. The Allens were especially thankful for salvation decisions among some of the Kamea young people. 

During the camp, John also spent time with three Kamea pastors—Ben, Jack, and Judas—reviewing and correcting portions of the Kamea translation of the New Testament. All three pastors spent time practicing reading the Kamea New Testament aloud. John was especially encouraged when Ben and Judas, who have worked with him on the translation for years, were able to read the Scriptures in their own language for the first time. They took copies back to their villages so others could begin reading God’s Word in Kamea.

John and Lena also traveled to Kelua in the Western Highlands, where they spent a week with missionaries Kenny and Sheila Seremak at Open Bible Baptist Church. The church was celebrating its first anniversary, and John had opportunities to preach several times. He also taught for two days at Mt. Highlands Baptist Bible Institute, where the classroom was full and the students were attentive. The Allens are thankful for the Lord’s continued opportunities to strengthen churches, train believers, and spread His Word throughout Papua New Guinea.
