Randy and Jeanette Alderman continue faithfully serving in Togo, witnessing God raise up national believers who are carrying the Gospel into new villages and churches.
A powerful testimony highlighted in this update is Yao, a humble layman who moved to the village of Tchaloude in the early 1990s and asked for help in starting a Bible-believing church. Through years of faithful evangelism and discipleship, that small group developed into a thriving church. Yao has since helped start three churches, seen most of his siblings come to Christ, and influenced many for the Gospel.
Through Yao’s mobile pharmacy ministry, he reached the village of Mewede, where a man named Kossi heard a simple Gospel verse and later trusted Christ. Kossi attended Bible Institute, graduated last year, and on January 24 was ordained and became pastor of the church in Mewede. Local chiefs and community leaders attended the ordination, showing the growing testimony of the church in the region.
At the same time, the Aldermans share a time of sorrow. Pastor Koffi Pre of Pagouda, who had faithfully served for over 20 years, recently passed away. His 22-year-old son Christophe, called into ministry and currently in Bible Institute, has stepped forward to lead the church. Despite cultural pressure to follow traditional fetish practices at the funeral, God was honored during the services. Christophe will serve under the guidance of Pastor Phillip as he assumes leadership.
The Aldermans continue to rejoice in how God is building His church in Togo through faithful national leaders.
Pray for Pastor Christophe as he leads the church in Pagouda following his father’s passing.
Pray for the Pre family as they grieve and adjust to life without their husband and father.
Pray for Pastor Kossi as he begins his ministry in Mewede.
Pray for continued growth and maturity among national church leaders.
Pray for bold evangelism and new church plants throughout Togo.
